RETURN SHIPPING - We use US Priority Mail for return shipping of your order, and Media Mail for large heavy orders such as boxes full of reel tapes. In order to make it fair to everyone, shipping is calculated by weight and zip code when the project is finished. Typically, single LP transfer orders run $7.00 or so to the lower 48.

DISCOUNTS - We do offer a discount for multiple albums and tapes in the same order. No discounts available for 78's or wires.

Our exclusive "Masterpiece" LP remastering process gives you the finest LP transfer on the planet - bar none. Choose any of three jewel case options, the same superb audio remastering is standard with every LP transfer. All CD's are track-selectable, one track per song. Home-made disc recordings vary in size from little cardboard records to album-length discs, and in quality from acceptable to atrocious. Because of this wide swing, we cannot pre-price acetate discs. The cost depends entirely on the recording, and varies from $5.00 per side up to $25.00 per side for a large album-length disc in poor condition. 90 minute tape -
$35.00 transfer, $40.00 if restoration is needed. Tape information printed on the CD.
(Requires 2 CD's)

Most commercial music tapes won't need restoration work. But it is usually needed for Christmas morning recordings, weddings, interviews, or any tape where the audio quality is poor and inconsistent. Discounts available for more than one cassette in the same order.

Reel Tapes - Since reel tapes come in such a wide variety of lengths and formats, we can't set a fixed price for reel tapes. We are often asked "How much are reel tapes?" The answer is, we don't know! We don't know the tape speed, number of tracks, arrangement of tracks, contents of the tape, how many times it will break, and so on and so on. Every reel is a "pig in a poke" so to speak. There is just no way of knowing what a reel will cost until it's here and playing on the machine, because only then will we know what will be needed for restoration. Reels are priced according to the length and condition of the recording and the number of CD's that the recording will yield. The minimum cost for any one single reel is $12.50, and for any one single order, $20.00. If one single reel requires multiple CD's, it will be priced at $15.00 per CD. Please be assured that we will provide the best possible sound for the lowest possible price on all reel tape projects.

Train Wrecks - Some old reel recordings are absolute disasters. Constant separating of old splices, tape keeps breaking, tape flipped upside down, 3 different speeds on the same tape, incessant start/stop noises, absolutely horrid recording quality, etc. (The typical "kids playing with the recorder" tapes are usually train wrecks.) Some tapes are simply nightmares to restore. We sincerely hope yours isn't, but if it is, do not despair. We can recover it. Train wrecks priced slightly higher than standard reel prices.

Pancakes -

Pancakes are reels of tape without reels. The cost to
recover pancakes will be an additional $10.00 per tape.
All pancakes are returned to the customer on reels.

$30.00 per 1-hour spool, direct to CD, no restoration. You get all the warts and surprises intact. (For the adventurous.)

$40.00 per 1-hour spool, full restoration.
The taming of the spool. This includes the transfer, speed correction if needed, removal of loud transients, steady-state noise removal, hum removal, volume leveling, editing, equalization, and track splitting of long continuous spools. Recommended.

Wires are more expensive than other media because they require much more time for preparation, playback, and restoration. The minimum price for any wire recording regardless of length is $30.00 for the first spool, and $25 per spool therafter. Because the precarious nature of wire recordings, we won't risk a wire by playing it multiple times or starting and stopping it. We can't "audition" spools just to see what's on them. Once a spool starts playing, we play it all the way, unless the remainder is obviously unrecorded.

Dictaphone Machine Belts - $15.00 per belt, transferred and restored.

Cylinder Recordings - $10.00 - $15.00 per cylinder, transferred and restored.
